One of the best things about following Jesus Christ is being a part of a community of like-minded believers. As we read the account of the early Church described in the book of Acts, we yearn to replicate that excitement, unity and deep fellowship of the Holy Spirit that the first Christians enjoyed. Cynics may dismiss that special unity as unsustainable in the real world once the novelty of the gospel and Church are diminished, but we believe that local churches today can enjoy deep intimacy if they embrace a few of the key principles mentioned in Acts 2:42-47:

acts 2:44b icon
"And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved."

The early church was not immune from the influnece of charlatans and profiteers (Acts 5, 9) but we believe that with careful administration, a community of trust and generosity can be built so that members of the local church can encourage each other and help to meet each others' needs. For this reason, we have created this moderated marketplace so that members of a local church body can help each other and build unity as followers of Jesus.
